German auto supplier Huf Hülsbeck & Fürst Gmbh & Co. KG will invest $20 million to expand production in North America, with additional manufacturing space, injection molding and increased employment.

Huf will add 52,000 square feet at its factory in Greeneville, Tenn., the company and Tennessee state officials announced Jan. 31. The work will include molding and painting capabilities and 100 more jobs at the site.

Work will begin this year, with production of final parts starting in 2014.

Huf is based in Velbert, Germany, with a sales office in Farmington Hills, Mich., and corporate headquarters in Milwaukee, Wis. It makes mechanical and electronic key systems, lock sets and remote control systems for a variety of automakers.

It launched production in Greeneville in 1995, the company said. Once the expansion is complete, Huf will have capacity to produce parts for 2.5 million vehicles annually.
