The planetary roller extruder has an output of between 1,600 and 2,200 kilograms an hour (3,527 to 4,850 pounds) of transparent or opaque PVC sheet. The transparent sheet is used as a top-layer against scratch marks, while the opaque, mainly white sheet is printed with the tile’s decoration. Afterward, all the layers get laminated and embossed together onto a base material highly filled with chalk.
According to Battenfeld-Cincinnati, NOX was the first company to market “LVT click” and “loose-lay LVT” in 2006. LVTs are PCV decking laminated from multiple sheet and installed like vinyl flooring.
The sheet used is made on calenders.
The planetary roller extruder system features good mixing properties, short residence times and a high level of surface renewal.
