As electronics devices continue to be more and more complex, the need for advanced flame retardants has never been more important. In addition, the automotive, aerospace and rail industries are under increased pressure to use flame retardant materials throughout their vehicles.
To help solve these problems, Polyonics has introduced a family of halogen-free flame retardant tapes. These new dimensionally stable, engineered tapes are specifically designed to help prevent the propagation of flames in a wide variety of applications. They are also tested to the UL94 standard.
Polyonics understands the chemistry of burning and manufactures the tapes using advanced FlameGard™ Technology. The technology combines chemical and physical mechanisms to effectively control heat transfer, oxygen availability, material decomposition and the generation of flammable gasses.
Flame retardant single coated tapes are available in 1 and 2 mil polyimide and 2 mil polyester films and 2 mil aluminum foils. A variety of adhesives and liners are also offered along with a combination flame retardant/static dissipative construction.
