BASF Canada recently hosted an information session on air-barrier systems for architects in the
Jutras discussed the Canadian Construction Materials Centre's (CCMC) Technical Guide, providing an overview of its requirements and various air-barrier solutions for improving the energy efficiency of a building envelope.
Robert Cardinal, Construction Standards Regulation Specialist, BASF Canada, and Pierre Couture, Business Manager-Polyurethane Spray Systems, BASF Canada, provided information on BASF's air-barrier systems, including the application of its WALLTITE® Eco and Enershield® solutions.
"Using an effective air-barrier system is critical to achieving a gap-free building envelope" said Couture. "WALLTITE® Eco is designed to improve the energy efficiency of any type of building. By reducing its energy demand, it subsequently reduces greenhouse gas emissions and promotes costs savings."
The seminar was approved by the OAQ; l'Ordre des Architectes du Québec and qualified as a credit for membership.
BASF Canada will offer similar air-barrier seminars in the coming months, with the next one scheduled for
