NEW DELHI: Delhi Metro has a debt of Rs 15,000 crore owing to the development of the two phases of the modern transport system and they would be settled in the next 20 years, Delhi Metro chief Mangu Singh said on Tuesday. He said the Phase-III that envisages adding another 103 km of the national capital to the Metro network would be completed by 2016 as per scheduled.
"We have a debt of roughly Rs 15,000 crore and we would be paying it in the next 20 years," he said. These debts relate to the construction of Phase-I and II of the Delhi Metro. The Delhi Metro would borrow over Rs 10,000 crore for the Phase-III from Japan International Cooperation Agency.
